Ikegami was a guest of Viz at San Diego Comic Con in 1995. During a panel he mentioned that he is in more demand as an artist than a writer because his “dark side” comes out while writing. His career began as a sign painter after graduating junior high school. His first manga was published in 1961 as a short story in the graphic novel Makyo.
His most popular titles as artist include Crying Freeman, Mai the Psychic Girl, Samurai Crusader, and Sanctuary. He is currently working on Strain with Buronson(begins in english in pulp volume 1 number 1).

Yoshida answered a few questions for the magazine. She said she became a comic artist because she worked at a design studio that went bankrupt and couldn’t find another job. If she didn’t do comics she would have been a graphic designer. She enjoys gardening and cooking. She hopes her American readers enjoy the unique culture of Japan.
Her most popular title is Banana Fish which is being published in English in Pulp. It was published in Japan from 1985 to 1994.

Buronson

Buronson (also known as Sho Fumimura) began his career as a comic writer after leaving the Japanese AirForce. He said that he was unemployed and living with a friend who created comics and that was what got him started. If he wasn’t a manga writer, he would like to be a gambler.
His debut work as called Peach Punch Masa. His first hit was Fist of the North Star. He teamed up with Ryoichi Ikegami to create Strain (published in pulp) as well as Sanctuary. He hopes that Japanese manga will take root in America and mentions that parts of his stories might be hard to understand due to language differences.
